Extends the vertebral column; assists with lateral flexion of vertebral column; postural stabilization of vertebral column.

Arterial (Blood) Supply of Iliocostalis Cervicis

Muscular branches of the occipital artery from the external carotid artery. Dorsal branches of the posterior intercostal arteries from the thoracic aorta.
